Services Offered

The Centre is open three days a week, every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10am – 3pm.

Individual Service

We provide a service tailored to each individual clients needs. It’s you that’s important. The atmosphere is informal and you are more than welcome to DROP IN. If however you feel more comfortable chatting on a one to one basis then this is also available.

Trained Staff

A healthcare professional will always be on hand and our volunteer counsellors are experienced and well trained, many having had their own personal experience of cancer. It’s amazing how talking helps, and the centre volunteers are good listeners.

Information

A vital element of our service, and we have a range of cancer information available to browse through or borrow. If the information you require is not available then we will find it from our many professional contacts, or download it directly from the Internet – if it’s out there – we’ll find it.

Resources

We have contacts with various local and national organizations from which you might benefit, but we would never contact them without your full permission. Perhaps you are struggling to understand the benefits and allowances you may be entitled to, or are unsure of what’s involved in a particular medical procedure. Whatever the problem we can obtain the relevant information from the many agencies we network with, or if you prefer, put you in touch directly.

Confidential

Above all our most important issue is CONFIDENTIALITY, which will be respected at all times. You only need to tell us what you feel comfortable divulging.

You can meet others affected by cancer. Whether you are a carer, partner or have cancer, you may find it beneficial to hear the experiences of those in a similar situation.

We intend to arrange informal talks given by senior healthcare professionals who are experts in various aspects of cancer care. These will be posted on our FUND RAISING page, and all are welcome to attend.
